• The work is original, has not been published before, and is not under consideration elsewhere.
• All authors have approved the final manuscript and the order of authorship.
• The abstract is 250 words or fewer and 4–6 keywords are provided.
• The manuscript is anonymised for double-blind review (author names removed from the main file).
• Figures are at least 300 dpi; tables are editable.
• References are complete and include DOIs where available.
• Funding, competing interests, ethics, data availability, and AI-use statements are included.
• A cover letter explaining the contribution and its fit with the journal is attached.
